ABOUT ME

"I came to Miami University without fulling knowing what "the college experience" would be like. My parents either only attended some college or just went straight into work after high school. I was curious to what all college would mean and wanted to have the best experience possible. My junior year of high school I had gone on a lot of college visits, did countless research online, and a lot of reflecting before I went on to apply to schools. My entire years of schooling up until now had been a private catholic education, so taking that step into a public institution was a big inner debate. When it came down to application time, one could say I was very indecisive, applying to around 11 schools. It sounded like a bit much, but I wanted to keep all of my options open. Once the acceptance, and sadly denial letters came in, I had to make my choice.

I am happy to say, I chose Miami University, to become a class of 2016 redhawk. This semester has flown by and its hard to believe I am a college student. After going home, my family has already noticed a difference in my maturity and growth as a young adult. My classes, especially English 111 and 112 have already taught me many useful skills for my future, and shown me the different paths I can take. I feel that I have become more independent, well spoken, as well as open minded from my time here at Miami.  I am extremely thankful for my opportunity to live and learn here!"
