The Twilight Tower is the first installment in Ashley's book series. The following is an excerpt from this novel.

"This thrilling tale goes all the way back to Ashley’s younger days at the age of 6. Her first encounter was with a franchise that has been known in television history as the epitome of the unknown…The Twilight Zone.  Her parents begged and pleaded for her to step into the haunted Hollywood Tower Hotel. Although, as Ashley heard screams coming from the building, her little feet wanted to stay planted right outside the gift shop. Unfortunately, her parents decided otherwise.

As tears streamed down her face, unsure of what she would see in this hotel, she stepped into the hotel’s main lobby. Cobwebs and dust filled the room, there were books left open, a dial phone left off the hook, and even suitcases abandoned by their owners. Ashley was afraid of what may have happened to everyone because it appeared that all but a few bellboys were still present in the hotel. As her eyes wondered to the hotel’s directory board, she noticed something peculiar. At the bottom of the board, lied some unused letters that spelled out, “EVIL TOWER U R DOOMED.” As more of the pieces of what may have happened to the Hollywood Tower Hotel began to come together, the more she wanted to turn around and never come back. The bellhop then ushered Ashley and her parents into a small library, along with many of the other hotels “guests” and closed the door behind them. She was so small that all she could see in the dimly lit room was legs of the people surrounding her.
“BOOM!” The lights went out as thunder and lightening stuck right outside the room. Just then, a small old television came to life. All Ashley could see was the black and white color that was projected from the screen. A man from the television spoke of “dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind,” and “crossing over into The Twilight Zone.” He told of a story from a night in 1939, which 5 people boarded an elevator of this popular Hollywood hotel; much like the night that was upon Ashley. That night in 1939, lightning had struck the hotel and mysteriously eliminated the front of the building, its occupants, and most importantly the elevator with those 5 guests inside. The man on the television then said that there was still a service elevator waiting to transport HER to the 13th floor and into The Twilight Zone. This idea terrified Ashley; she was stepping into the unknown and more importantly supposedly into a haunted elevator. The doors of the library reopened, and the bellhop informed the group that “their rooms are now ready.” Ashley held tightly to her father as they stepped into the dark boiler room and slowly walked towards the elevator.
Numbers were given and Ashley was asked to step onto the circle labeled 6, and told that once the doors opened, she along with several others was to take their designated seat in the elevator. As Ashley sat down with her parents, they realized that she was too small to be restrained by the seatbelt. Therefore, as the elevator rose, her parents held her as tightly as they could into the seat. Ashley was determined to keep her eyes tightly shut for the duration of the elevator ride. She felt movement as the elevator moved forward. She heard voices of a girl singing, and decided to open her eyes, and what lied in front of her was not what she wanted to see. In front of that elevator were the five ghosts from that 1939 stormy night. She shrieked and immediately shut her eyes again. But then she heard a strange noise, as if something were clicking, then heard a snap. The elevator dropped and again Ashley screamed even louder. Although, the elevator didn’t crash; it rose and fell, again and again. Ashley thankfully stayed planted in her seat through the drops thanks to her parents, and finally when she had thought it would never end, the elevator gracefully landed on the ground of the hotel. A bellhop, or should I say, Disney Cast Member, helped Ashley, her parents, and the other tourists out of the elevator, and directed them to the gift shop."
